Why Choose a Solar Power System?
Aside from the impact of cutting your carbon footprint, solar power systems can drastically reduce your electricity bill in two ways. Firstly, by generating your own electricity you reduce the electricity you need to buy from the grid. Secondly, any excess electricity your system produces is sold back to the energy provider. Another often overlooked benefit is that the solar power system increases the value of your property.

How Much Roof Space is Required?
The amount of roof space required depends on the size of the system installed. For example, a 1.5Kw system requires about 12 square meters of roof space. Each panel measures about 1.5 square meters. The roof orientation, inclination & shading are other factors to be kept in mind. Unshaded and preferably north-facing parts of the roof are preferable. The system is modular and can therefore be arranged in a way that best suits the roof.

Are Solar Panel Systems as Effective in Winter?
Solar Photovoltaic panels rely on the ultraviolet component of sunlight, not heat. So while there may be fewer hours of sunlight in winter, the actual conversion of power is unaffected by the change in season. However, you will benefit from extended hours of sunlight in the summer and lower temperatures in the winter.

Have the Solar Panels and Inverters Been Tested for Quality to Both Australian and International Standards?

Do the Residential Solar Systems Sold Come with a Battery?
There is no battery as the system is completely grid interactive. Battery systems are normally used with RAP (Remote Area Power) systems that have no grid connectivity.

What Happens in the Event of a Supply Failure or Blackout?
For safety reasons, when the normal supply of electricity is interrupted the solar units are also shut down.

What Happens at Night?
As solar PV systems only produce electricity when they are exposed to sunlight, they do not produce electricity at night. At night your house or business will obtain electricity from the grid.

Is it Possible to Increase the Size of a Solar PV System in the Future?
If you have sufficient roof space and additional capacity in the inverter you can increase the size of your system. If you don’t have an inverter of large capacity you must get approval first and this may affect any existing feed in tariff (FIT) Please be aware that feed-in tariffs have limits on the system size.

What is the Payback Time for My PV system?
